Tire Replacement, Balancing, Rotation

Complete inspection of the tires and wheels for wear, balance, maintenance, tread depth, road contact patch, alignment or steering and suspension problems. Service may include replacement of tires, wheels and rims, valve stem, tire pressure monitor sensors, and wheel balancing.

Importance of Service:

Tire rotation – Rotating your tires can be beneficial in several ways. When done at the recommended times, it can preserve balanced handling and traction and even out tire wear. Tire rotation can even provide performance advantages. Tire rotation helps even out tire wear by allowing each tire to serve in as many of the vehicle’s wheel positions as possible.

Tire Balance - A balanced tire is when the mass of the tire, when mounted on its wheel and the car's axle, is uniformly distributed around the axle. Even easier yet, how about... there are no heavy spots. Balanced tires can be the difference between a good or bad driving experience. Some cars are more sensitive to an out of balance tire than others, but no one is happy with a vibration. An out of balance tire can adversely affect ride quality, shorten the life of your tires, bearings, shocks and other suspension components. If you have a vibration that is dependent on speed, and usually becomes noticeable around 40-45 mph and increases as your speed increases.

Tire Replacement – You could consider replacing tires when their tread depth reaches 4/32” of an inch and definitely replace them if the tread is equal to or less than 2/32” of an inch. Your average driving conditions can affect how much tread you should have on your tires. In snow, increased tread depth is desirable because your tires need to compress the snow in their grooves and release it as they roll. If there isn't sufficient tread depth, the "bites" of snow your tires can take on each revolution will be reduced to "nibbles," and your vehicle's traction and mobility will be sacrificed.
